British Video Association (BVA) has released new sales figures for the first quarter of 2010, based on data from the Official Charts Company, that show a strong growth in DVD and Blu-ray sales, compared to Q1 of last year.
Compared to the same period last year, the total sales have increased by 31%, while Blu-ray sales alone have increased by 50%. With 2.7 million sold, this brings the total number of Blu-rays sold in the UK up to 15.6 million.
The top three selling Blu-ray titles of Q1 saw their Blu-ray sales average around 20% of the total disc sales with The Hurt Locker at 24%, Up at 17% and 2012 at 20%.
