I have now received the expected U2 360° at the Rose Bowl Super Deluxe Edition and would like to give you a look at what is contained in the box. Unfortunately I do not have access to a professional studio so the pictures are not of the best quality, but you should be able to see what is what.

This is the box. It came wrapped in thin film, but it was impossible to take a useful photo with it on, as it caused a lot of reflection. The box is made from thick cardboard and it seems quite sturdy.

When I received it I was quite surprised by its dimensions. The promo shots found around the internet does not really give a good impression of its bulk. In the above photo I have compared it to a CD, a DVD, and a Blu-ray case to illustrate its size. A quick measurement gives dimensions of 11½" x 10" x 3" (29cm x 25cm x 7cm) and the box including content weighs in at a little more than 3 pounds.

It took me a moment to figure out how to open the box, but eventually I figured out that it opens like a book. The edge has a hidden magnetic stripe which keeps the lid firmly shut, but which is also easy to open. It seems to be a god solution.

Here we have the box fully opened. The first thing you see is a thin hardcover book which fills the box to the edges. Fortunately there is placed a string beneath, much like the strings found in old books to mark your progress, that makes it easy to lift out the upper items in the box.

This is the box without its content. As you can see there is a smaller compartment beneath the larger top layer. The top layer contained two books (including the hardcover mentioned above), a vinyl record, and a poster with a blueprint of the stage. The smaller compartment contained two DVD's, a Blu-ray, a sleeve with photos, and a sleeve with plectrums. It should be clear from these images that the box is made from quite thick cardboard. The placeholder is made from thinner cardboard, but it seems durable enough to hold the content safely.

This is the case with all its content spread out in front of it. As you can see there is plenty of stuff to sink your teeth in.

The included book is a 28 page hardcover with one- and two-page photos from the tour. The cover is made from cardboard similar to the box and the pages are made of good thick paper. It contains some really good photos and it seems sturdy and durable.

Next we have a 32 page softcover book with more photos from the tour, but there is also a little text included, where each band member gives a short description of their take on the 360° tour. There is also a short description of the genesis of the tour from show director Willie Williams. Unfortunately the text is written with a silver-like colour which tends to blend in with the background images. A double page in the middle of the book (not counted in the 32 pages) is made to be taken out and contains a description of Aung San Suu Kyi, the leader in Burma who has been under house arrest for years. It also has a life size photo of Kyi's face which you can cut out and use as a mask at the concert, particularly during the performance of "Walk On".

Contained in a small sleeve with an embossed 360° logo is three plectrums each imprinted with a different 360° tour logo. One of them (the middle one on the picture) has a small hole, making it ideal as a pendent for a necklace.

This 7" vinyl record is one of the more peculiar items in the box. Why it has been included is unclear, but it is a nice little addition. The record contains the song "Soon" (2.05 minutes) on both sides, but as I do not have access to a record player I could not give it a spin.

Now we come to the most important part of the box, the two DVD's and the Blu-ray containing the show and special features. Each disc is packed in an individual cardboard cover with a picture of the stage on the front and white text on black on the back, listing the content of the disc. The first DVD contains the concert while the second contains the extras. The Blu-ray contains both the concert and the extras. The cardboard covers are a bit higher than a normal Blu-ray cover, but about the same width.

This envelope embossed with the 360° logo contained five photos from the tour. Their size is roughly 5" x 8" (135mm x 205mm). They are made of the same material as the pages of the hardcover book.

Lastly we have a 3D blueprint of the stage. Unfortunately it was impossible to take a good photo of this as it is both big, 38½" x 22" (98cm x 56cm), and made from very reflective silvery paper.
That is it for the content of the Super Deluxe Edition of U2 360° at the Rose Bowl. I must say that I was pleasantly surprised by the content, both the amount and the quality.
I have also written a review of the included Blu-ray, which has the same content as the standard edition of U2 360° at the Rose Bowl and I must say, that I was as impressed with the Blu-ray, as I was with this box. The interview can be found here.
